What equipment is needed to trap a house mouse?
Mouse trapping can be as easy or difficult as possible; it all depends on how you want it to be. There are several ways to trap a house mouse; all you need is a good quality trap and an irresistible bait. 

Mousetraps are typically reusable, easy to set up, and you can buy them from your local hardware store. However, trapping a house mouse using several types of traps requires a little bit of effort. You need to consider the number of mice you will be trapping at once and high activity areas.

Live Traps
These are typically wire cages with a one-way door. The door has a spring trigger, so when the house mouse steps in, it clamps shut, making it impossible for the mouse to get out. 

Glue Traps
These are among the classic mouse/rat traps. It is merely a sticky pad that traps the mouse as it runs past it. You can capture about 2-4 mice with a glue trap. 

Snap Traps
This is the most common trap out there. Its design is simple, spotting an iron wire attached to a spring trigger. The bait is placed in front to attract the mouse, and once it activates the trigger, the wire snaps shut, breaking its neck in the process. The snap trap's downside is that you can only capture one mice per set up, and sometimes, these mice are sneaky enough to evade the wire. 

One-way Exclusion Funnels
The one-way exclusion funnel is made out of chicken wire and has a plastic funnel that leads the mouse to a cage. The funnel is narrow and has ridged edges, making it impossible for the mouse to move in both directions. Once the mouse enters the funnel, it is incapable of turning back around, which means it will have to make its way down to the cage.
